Women in Agriculture Conference

An exciting conference just for women involved in agriculture.  A full day of networking and education on many areas of farming. Our keynote speaker is Sherry Saylor, Chair of the American Farm Bureau National Women's Leadership Committee.  Join us for a full day of learning from experts and an opportunity to mingle with other women farmers.

The 2016 Rhode Island Women in Agriculture Conference will bring together farmers, educators, agricultural service providers and others to build production and business skills, share educational and organizational strategies and forge new connections all aimed at expanding the success of women in sustainable agriculture. 

Conference topics will include: Livestock Management, Breeding and Nutrition Management of Production Animals, GAP-Food Safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Plants, Farm to Plate, Soil, Soil Health in Greenhouses, Manure/Composting, Finance - Keeping Your Money, Money Tools and Software Availability, Selling Your Products- What's Worked and What Hasn't, Steps to Selling and Marketing Your Products, and Inspiring Women in Agriculture. Recently there has been growing acknowledgement of the important of women in agriculture.  Their role is an important, diverse, and often overlooked contribution to our food system.
